| In June of 1999 we experienced an
eventful arrival at San Francisco International Airport: there
was an aborted landing just a few feet from touchdown and I was
able to get more photographs of the mud and salt flats south
of the City on the second go round. Very exciting on both counts.
Of course the scratchy, double-paned windows of the commercial
airplane yielded low-contrast, vignetted images, but the compositions
were so nice, i took the images into Photoshop and with an adjustment
here and a filter there, voilá! Photo illustrations. The
contrast is still low, but I love the muted colors. Available
digitally and eventually as iris prints. Click on each 2 inch
image to see a 5 inch enlargement. And if you know of a website
that features photographs of William Garnett, the god of aerial
photography, please let me know and I will provide a link to
it. ©1999-2001 Jane Marie Cleveland |
