In the northwest corner of San Francisco, surrounded by Lincoln Park , which sits on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean, is the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, modeled after the Paris Legion of Honor by George A Applegarth in 1916. The structure houses a fine arts museum, with a notable permanent collection of Rodin sculpture, 16th to 18th Century European painting, and graphic arts from the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts.
